Leibster Award

I was nominated for a Leibster award by my lovely BFF Alex! So like a year later I'm finally doing it!

"Liebster" means dearest in German, and it's awarded, blogger to blogger, to up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers.  The rules for accepting and giving the award are pretty simple.  Once you accept the award, you just have to do the following in a blog entry:

Answer the 11 questions posted by the nominator on her blog
Give 11 facts about yourself
Nominate 5-11 other new, up-and-coming blogs with less than 200 followers
Make up 11 more questions to pass on to the bloggers you choose to nominate
Thank your nominator by linking back to her blog
Upon your post going live, contact your nominees about your nomination for them

1. What is your favorite commercial? (Link please!)
Okay I have two!! McKay showed me this one day, and I'm pretty sure I laughed for like 5 minutes straight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-k9K8V2-Itw
and then I'm pretty sure everyone's seen this one. But hey it's so catchy, i'm sure you'll wanna watch it again. :)

2. Your most awkward date ever was...
Pretty sure I've got the BEST awkward date stories!! Like too many for a little post like this. (also I post this on FB so it's probably best I don't spill all the details on the interwebs.) but next time you see me, we'll have story time. :)  (and now everyone I ever dated is going to be super paranoid... muahahaha!) ;)

3. Who is your favorite Disney princess and why?
Take a guess. ;)

"Look at this stuff isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?"

Why is the mermaid my favorite you ask? Ariel knows what kind of life she wants for herself and she goes for it. She's feisty yet kind and isn't afraid to speak her mind. (when she has a voice of course..) And then there's the fact that she's a mermaid, with a killer singing voice, and above all she's a ginger :)

4. Who was your favorite teacher growing up?
I had many wonderful teachers, but the one teacher I owe the most too would probably be Mr. Freeman. I had him for Multimedia my Junior year where I learned all about Graphic Design. I liked that class so much that I took it again my senior year along with my first 3D Animation class. He was also the Adviser for the High school Yearbook committee where he appointed me Design Editor. Because of him I discovered my passion for Graphic Design and have had many amazing opportunities because of the knowledge and skills I learned in his classes.

5. If you could have any accent in the world, what accent would it be?
It's a toss-up between Irish and Australian.

6. Have you ever had a re-occurring dream? If so, what was it?
Yes! When I was younger I had a re-occurring dream that I was sitting on the stairs in my garage eating a Popsicle watching my dad fix something, then all of a sudden I would start floating away out of the garage and my dad would try to catch me, but he never could. I'd just keep floating higher and higher into the sky, and then I'd wake up. WEIRD!! WHAT DOES IT MEAN!???

7. What is your favorite color?
Pink and Sea-foam Green!

8. What is your favorite holiday?
Christmas! There are just so many happy memories from growing up that all have to do with the holiday's, and my family has so many fun traditions. Every year we make toffee and gingerbread houses and Candy Cane Cookies. And we have this amazing tree with only Disney ornaments! ITS MAGICAL!!

9. Share your favorite joke.
Okay, so I don't have one awesome one, but I do have a bunch of super stupid ones! So here it goes! :)

  • What do you call a fake noodle? An Impasta!
  • Why was the tomato blushing? cause it saw the salad dressing!
  • What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground Beef!
  • What do you call a bear with no teeth? A Gummy Bear!
  • What do you call a cheese that isn't yours? Nacho Cheese!
  • What do nosey peppers do? They get jalapeno business!
  • How do you make a tissue dance? Put a little Boogie in it!

Your welcome. :)

10. What is your favorite movie?
Okay, so my favorite movie of all time is Little Mermaid. I know shocker. Also Frozen!!! I'm completely obsessed!! But what many people may not know is that I also like non-Disney movies as well. For reals! My favs are The Little Princess, The Last Song, Legally Blond, and any of the Lord of the Rings. (I swear its a complete coincidence that most of my favorite movies start with the letter L. haha!)

11. What do you want to leave as your legacy on this lovely Earth of ours?
I would like to be remembered as a real life princess. Someone with true inner beauty. Known for treating everyone with kindness and care. Someone who had wishes and dreams and goals, and who worked hard and did everything possible to accomplish those things. Someone that could win hearts of others just by radiating happiness and love. That's why I'm a "Princess in Training".

Eleven Random Facts:

1. I am legally blind. I've had to wear glasses since the first grade. My prescription is -5.50 which basically means I run into walls if I don't have contacts in.

2. Pajamas are my favorite item of clothing ever. And when I wear them, the tops and bottoms have to match. I'm cool like that. "Wear cute pajamas, you never know who you might meet in your dreams".

3. More than anything I wish I could have the skills to be a professional Ice Skater or gymnast!

4. I'm depressingly un-flexible, however I do have a crazy over-extendable back and can win any Limbo Competition. Any time. Any place.

5. I have a Little Mermaid obsession (no duh.) But till I was about 14 my favorite Disney Princesses were actually Jasmine and Belle.

6. My name's Lindsay and I am a Milk-aholic. I love love love it! ...but just recently I've discovered that I'm lactose intolerant. WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE???

7. I played piano for 9 years. But if I could learn to play any other instrument I would love to play Guitar or Drums!

8. <-- This is my favorite/lucky number.

9. When I was little I was a complete tom boy. I hated shopping and anything pink, my favorite toys were legos and my race track, and I used to hate my name cause I thought it was too girly. Bahahaha! Well something happened cause now look at me! Sparkles, Pink, Princesses, and Lindsay Ann. I love it all!

10. I hate sleeping. I feel like its a waste of time. but alas I get very cranky and emotional without it..

11. I'm majoring in Animation with the dream of eventually working for Disney Imagineering (the people who think up and develop rides and attractions in the Disney Parks.)

So like all the blogs I follow are blogs of my mission friends.. so obviously they can not partake of the fun of the Leibster at this moment, so I nominate McKay and Kim (when they eventually get their blogs up and running) and Jeni and Krisia!

1. Whats your favorite memory from Elementary School?
2. If you could change your name, what would you change it to?
3. What are your favorite books to read?
4. If there was a movie based on your life, Who would you want to play you?
5. Who in your life has influenced you the most?
6. What song best describes your life at the moment?
7. Do you have any nicknames? What are they?
8. If you had to wear the same thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
9. What's the best prank you've ever pulled?
10. If you could choose one new talent to have, what would it be?
11. Most embarrassing moment?

See Ya Real Soon! (Part 2)

Ugh.. goodness these posts are difficult to write. BUT I MUST! So next, I'll talk about my last days in my beloved home of Frontierland! With it being the peak season, things were kind of nuts. The last few weeks were some of the hardest, just because dealing with hot, grumpy guests isn't the most fun thing in the world. Then on top of that there were more goodbyes that had to be done. But believe me, the goods of my job definitely out weighed the bad. I don't think there was a better group of cast members than in my little Froland. I'm so grateful I was in a role where I could be able to socialize and get to know such great people so well, and work with many of them for 5-8 months!

Saying goodbye to my international friend!
Pau (spain), Me, Galen, Sian (England), Cicy (China), Raphael (France)

I was super lucky my last few days to work stock with this cool kid.
And crazy fun and insanity ensued. Pargo trips to Main Street,
watching my last parades and Fireworks, heated arguments
about the princesses, etc. haha! Miss you Galen!!
The ceremonial last ride-through of Splash Mountain!

My very last day was made extra magical by all my wonderful fellow cast-members and managers. I was given an awesome picture collage of all my adventures in Frontierland and lots of hugs, and the most magical part of the night was when my BFFF (best froland friend forever) Brandy took me away from my position real quick and let me watch 'Wishes!' for my very last time! Up until the very last second those wonderful Castmembers were still making magic for me!
As the night came to an end we all gathered around the Trading Post took pictures, gave our final goodbyes and I cried the entire way to the bus.

So a few days before I left, Jess and I made plans to have our last roomie day! All I wanted was to do one last character breakfast, so we headed on over to 1900 Park Fair, the same place I had my first character meal. :)

The final Princess Pose!

Mickey Waffles dipped in Strawberry soup is one of the greatest things on the planet!

Winnie the Pooh!

And Tigger Too!!

Cutest Alice! and she said we looked like twins like Tweedle-Dee
and Tweedle-Dum, haha! Day made.

Mary Poppins! I want her dress!
This next Character was the funniest I think I have ever met! It was the Mad Hatter from Alice and Wonderland. We were watching him interact with the other tables and thought he was the wittiest character ever! he then came over to our table and asked how we knew each other, we told him we were roommates but only for two more days then he said "ONLY TWO MORE DAYS?!?!" He then ran to the couples table next to ours and yelled "DID YOU HEAR THAT?? THEY'RE ONLY ROOMATES FOR TWO MORE DAYS!!!" (then the best part) He then ran to the Carousal horse next to our table and while hugging his leg exclaimed "MR. PONY!!! DONT YOU UNDERSTAND THE TRADGEDY!?!?! ONLY TWO MORE DAYS!!!!
We were seriously dying of laughter! We didn't stop quoting him the entire day. It was sooooo great! :D

This is Mr. Pony. :)
"Were all mad here!"
After our amazing character breakfast, we headed on over to Magic Kingdom for one last famous Lindsay and Jess character hunt.

First time meeting Daisy! Think Beyonce in Duck form.
Miss Minnie!

The very last characters of my college program! This was so special!
Somewhat unrelated note: my friend Rachel and I started this journey
together at auditions back in Utah. She's good friends with Jasmine,
So I know she'd appreciate knowing that this last
character moment was so incredibly amazing to me. :)
One last picture with my beautiful castle. :)
The last day was extremely bitter sweet I got to spend it with my two favorite roomies. (the other three left the day before) Sammie Jo then had to leave to go back to South Carolina. We hugged and exchanged gifts. She was such an amazing, fun, kind, thoughtful, considerate roommate and friend. I've told her all my future roommates are going to have a tough time measuring up to her.
Then it was just me and Jess just packing and jammin out to Disney Music like we do. :) Then it was time for me to get to the airport to catch my flight. Jess was kind enough to take me, and as we were driving away from Patterson Court it was raining, it was quite the Parent Trap moment. haha! The whole way there we had a sing along to Disney Mania and A*Teens. We then got to the Orlando Airport, gave each other hugs and I headed to my gate.

LAST ROOMIE PICTURE!!
I did stop at the airport Disney first though, with tears in my eyes and asked the castmember there if it happens a lot where Disney College Program kids stop by on their way home. He said "oh yeah, Ive had to talk plenty of them in actually getting on their plane, they just want to stay here forever!" That's definitely where I was at. I did however board my plane. I was also very excited when I could see mountains outside, and knew I was home. :)

Just a few last words about my college program. My entire life I wanted so badly to work for Disney, and for that to actually happen was nothing short of a dream come true. I knew it would be a lot of fun, but never could I have imagined how much it taught me.
I have become a much braver and more confident person.
I've learned how important it is to always chase your dreams and work hard for the things that you want.
I learned further how important it is to be a good friend and to make good friends, they'll be your family while your away from home.
I know now how important patience is with both yourself and others, and to be kind no matter the circumstances. Your own happiness isn't up to others, it's a choice.
I was also able to be closer to my heavenly father and develop a stronger testimony being out on my own and making my own decisions.

Thank you guys for joining me in this journey! I suppose now it's time to post about my life back in the real world now isn't it?

See Ya Real Soon! (Part 1)

First off, I'm back. Yeah the greatest adventure ever has been over for two months exactly now! Don't cry for me.. trust me, I'm already sad enough for the both of us. Believe me people, Post Disney Depression IS REAL!!! Yes, I understand that I sound like a crazy person, but everything about my adventure was just that amazing! There really is nothing like it.
I think I just about covered all the real exciting stuff that happened on my program, except for the hardest/funnest week, and that was the very last week of my program. So this is the tale of when I left the most magical place in the universe. There was a lot packed into that last week. We'll start off with the day I graduated with the mouse.

Housing held this great big graduation party for all of the College Program participants that were leaving soon. We got graduation ears, diplomas, and we were able to take pictures with Goofy, Pluto, Minnie, and Mickey,
Really though graduations don't get much better than this!
Also, are those not the coolest graduation caps
you've ever seen??
We did it! DCP 2013 graduates!!
Alex and I wanted to get in the last of our to-do list later that night, so we headed over to EPCOT, watched out last Illuminations, ate a delicious dinner at Sunshine Seasons and went on a few last EPCOT rides.
We haven't driven in a long time, so it was kinda rough...

To celebrate the last day of her Program, Alex and I headed back over to EPCOT for the morning to Akershus at the Norway pavilion for a wonderful breakfast with the princesses!
(thank you man in back for photo-bombing..)

Super excited to eat!!!!

Cinderella is so PRETTY! I want her face. :)

Ariel was super perky today it was great.

Aurora is only in her movie for 16 minutes.. thats lame.
But she has a pink dress, so I can't hate her.

One of these pics had to be taken before I left.

had my Ears engraved. "DCP 2013, Lindsay"
Now it's official.

Last ride photo! Aug 2013. PRECIOUS!!!

Jess met up with us that night after wishes to say goodbye to Alex.
My last Photo with my two besties!
Last look at the castle.
That was definitely one of the most magical/saddest days of my program. It was really hard to say goodbye to my Florida Sister. Even though by some amazing coincidence we only live like 20 minutes away when we were back in Utah. but It just kinda felt like the end of an era and that was hard to leave behind. Its just crazy how much fun we had over the 8 months I was there! but I guess that's to be expected, because I mean come on, we were at Disney World! but I had never in a million years expected to find a new best friend and become as close as we are. I am definitely blessed.

Summer Time!

What time is it? Summer time! (well it was like a month ago..) So I'm gonna tell you about Summer time in DISNEY!!!! YAY!!
So as soon as my family left things started getting real. Like it kinda started to feel like it was going to be over soon. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO END?!?!? So I started living it up! Like even more than I already was. And Guys. This was probably the best summer in the history of summers! Yes I still worked like a whole lot, and it was hotter than any place should be ever. But omy goodness was it fun!

I hadn't hung out with Jess as much as I had wanted to during the program, so we definitely had to change that, and in mid-June we had a wonderful girls day in MK.
You can't really tell, but it pretty much
hurricaned on us that day. still magical.

Beasts first Ride on Splash Mountain. A very big Moment.

Summer in Florida wouldn't be complete without a beach day. So that's exactly what my besties and I did. YOLO TO COCOA!!!!
We both brought Ariel Towels. This is why were friends.

FUN FACT! I don't know how to swim. We discovered this further
that day. Getting pushed over by waves and what not.
Longingly looking at the ocean.
Wishing we were Mermaids.

Oh wait!! I am a Mermaid!

Remember that time we lived an hour away from
the beach? What a lovely time that was. :)

Oh yes! and who could forget all those many wonderful character hunting days? Seriously my favorite days ever!

Introducing Jess to my favorite mermaid.
The occasion called for both of us to wear mermaid shirts. Obviously.
Dr. Facilier and Louis!
THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!!!!
Meeting my Splash Mountain crew!
Up top Br'er Fox!
Br'er Rabbit loves me.
Chip and Dale. Alex and Linds. Classic BFF's.
The boss man! er...mouse! :)
FUN FACT! One of my first/favorite memories
at Disney was when I met Pluto for the first time
when I was 5. He licked my face, and I thought it was
the funniest thing ever! Good memories with this puppy. :)

Minnie Mouse! such a classy little lady.

Jake and the Neverland Pirates!

This day we were supposed to be meeting a bunch
of characters, but it started POURING so we
got stuck inside the Morocco Pavilion...
...So we just met each other.
Then eventually Aladdin and Jasmine came around and wanted to meet us too.
Mary Poppins: shall we take a picture?
Us: yes! we'll just set down our autograph books real quick.
Mary: oh yes, books do have the tendency not to smile in pictures.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!!
Duffy bear! His face is a hidden mickey! MAGICAL!!
The ever so lovely Belle!
FUN FACT! Belle is most definitely my
second favorite Princess.
Belle and I are like BFF's, like she invited me to the castle and everything.

Oh yes and then there was that one day that was probably the most magical day of all time. Ever.
It started out as just a regular amazing Character Hunting Day.
We started our day in EPCOT where we met
this lovely fellow.
FUN FACT! I hate Alice in Wonderland the
movie, both versions. But Alice herself
is one of my fav characters ever!
Donald! 3 Caballeros style.
Don't mess!!
Ralph and Vanellope!
Aurora! ..actually my least fav princess.. but she's
gorgeous so i guess she's got that going for her.
Punzie!!
Cinderelly!!

Tiana and Naveen! They were so sassy and fun! Like I wanna be
Tiana. That would work right?
That same day we got reservations for the Crystal Palace, and I got to meet all my pals from the Hundred Acre Wood!
Kisses for Pooh Bear!!

FUN FACT! One summer I watched the original
Winnie the Pooh 17 times. I seriously love these
guys soooooo much!!

Piglet!

Eeyore!
And then the most magical thing ever happened. Jess and I were riding the little mermaid ride when we got a personal invite from the Mermaid herself to come and visit with her in Cinderella's Castle! I had never been in the Castle before so as you could imagine it was as if I was 5 years old again. It was so beautiful!! And Ariel was just wonderful as usual. After meeting with the mermaid Wishes had just started and we were able to watch it underneath the castle with Cinderella! like who does that!? We then finished off the night watching the "Celebrate the Magic", while eating Dolewhips. In that moment my life was just perfect. You just really never grow out of that giddy magical feeling you get when your at Disney! I just want to thank all the other castmembers out there that made magic for me, this day and all the other amazing days I had on my program. They definitely helped make one (not so) little girl's dreams come true! (and I'm literally crying while writing this. ITS FINE.)
